Salt City Eats: Lunch at Brewerton Diner

Brewerton Diner’s recent fame due to a local news article has sparked a huge influx of new customers wanting to try what the owner/chef Mike has cookin’! With daily specials ranging from Oreo French Toast to wings and even tacos, Brewerton Diner is both a must-try and a must-return diner.

Walking in to Brewerton Diner yesterday (Tuesday) during the lunch rush, we are immediately greeted by a smiling face of the busy waitress letting us know to to sit wherever we would like. Fortunately there was room for us in a booth/chair combo. We stuck to the simple staples of a diner for drinks: Oj, coffee, and some chocolate milk. Since Brewerton Diner is open for both Lunch and dinner, we agreed to order one dish from each half of the menu. Not waiting long, our drinks were delivered along with our food not far behind.

From the breakfast menu we ordered a omelette with sausage and onion along with some wheat toast with jam. From the lunch menu, we ordered the Philly Cheese steak (which we’ve heard so much about) with peppers, onions, and american cheese along with a side of hash browns. Long story short, it would be impossible for us not to return to eat again. Everything was cooked perfectly, hash browns didn’t even need any ketchup or syrup, omelette was perfect, and everything was perfectly portioned. The Philly Cheese steak was huge but the perfect amount to fill me up.

A clean plate means a happy stomach and that’s exactly what happened at Brewerton Diner. Next time we go, we’ll venture into the unknown with whatever mouth watering special Mike will come up with!
